Blomsterofferet - Poem by Emil Aarestrup

Her staaer Huset. I det mørke Stræde
Brænder Lygten døsig paa sin Stage.
Pilgrimsgangen maa jeg stille drage
Til den Kjæres Huus med hellig Glæde.

Der jeg staaer hvadenten Straaler klæde
Vindvets Ruder, eller Storme brage
Vildt i Natten mellem Gavl og Tage;
Længslen vil fornøie sig, og græde.

Duft Levkøier, som jeg nys mon bryde!
Duft og døe! For Templet skal I hvile,
Offerstrøet for hendes Dør nedfalde.

Eders Duft skal hendes Drøm omflyde,
Hvor I svævende som Sylpher smile,
Og paa mig hun vil i Drømme kalde.
