Blood - Poem by Peter Joseph Hogenson

Can we be blood
and keep it real
or do you feel the need
to let it end with a dull, empty thud?

Are we brothers?
What should that mean?
That we polish off all the stupid crazy mothers
As we empty the magazine?
Yet, with our consciences clean?
Maybe only God can rightfully glean...

Are we brothers?
Do we bleed the same stuff?
Or hide behind others
When times get too tough?

Can we be blood
and keep it real
or do you feel the need
to let it end with a dull, empty thud?

We once had what it took
A bud is a bud
And in my book
that's blood...
