Blood Stained Valentine Poem by Ramona Thompson

Blood Stained Valentine

Rating: 5.0

Note-I wrote this the morning after the Parkland School shootings. I have just now found it again and had the courage to post it. WE MUST CHANGE OUR GUN LAWS! No more excuses! Never again!

Rewrite of The Murder Doll's song by the same name

Everyday now
It's like a bad, bad movie on a Saturday night
And no matter how much I wanna close my eyes
I can't escape the demons
Screaming
Oh God! How can this be?

Every day now
It's like a car crash
God help me
If only I could look away
Jeers to the fool who left 'em all dead
Bastard going down
As cruel as cheap champage
Puts an arrow of agony
Right through my heart
I swear all I feel is pain

Chorus

L-O-V-E
Whatever happened to humanity?
The bloody evidence haunts the crime scene

Can't we replace the guns with roses?
Or even a diamond ring?
Can't we learn to practice
Human kindness and those other nice, normal things
Starting this day
I want it to be the last
Never again
Another blood stained Valentine

Violence is like a bottle of poison
Too many of us can't seem to resist
Connect the dots to cross out the razor blade
At America's wrist
Stop this insane blood
Before it drips
And that gun triggers
In wicked finger tips

Chorus

A passionate plea against your Gun Laws. And you are making music more relevant. I like your ideas and your are creating genuine poetry at the same time. Well done.
