Blossom - Poem by Gordon Jerome

Such beauty grows from fertile soil
From a simple beginning it must toil
Pushing onward to one day break free
All part of life’s challenge to simply be
Stretching skyward with awkward grace
It adds its beauty to a once vacant place
With loving warmth and nurturing care
Its beauty can live on for all to share
This blossom must remain ever free
For potted or picked it ceases to be.
‘closing thought”
Free lives the flower grown in the wild
And also the spirit of our inner child
