Blue Ballon Poem by Joey Cortez

Blue Ballon

My blue balloon floated away
She said she doesn’t love me today
I see you by the ocean and wish that you would drown
I would be sad at first but then joy would come around

I walk along the beach picking up the missing pieces of myself
I want to be a butterfly like everyone else
But I’m just a worm being eaten by the birds
The hardest part is living; we live in a beautiful world

I want to be big, strong, and fast; run and be free
So no one can catch me but then no one could ever save me
I’m just a stupid boy, a dreamer,21 pages of symbols and marks
You left your marks on some pages but I tore out those parts

The sky fell on my head
My blue balloon turned red
The gates of heaven closed on me
I’m one dropp of water in the desert sea

My bones turn to ashes and the pages turn to dust
You think that you are special better than the rest of us
You’re the ending to my new start
I’m the splinter deep within your heart
