    Wow, what a strong statement! I don't think I would pay ($18?) to remind myself of that. maybe it was intended that people buy it for their spouses or mother-in-laws.: -) (Report) Reply

    It's not eighteen dollars. The local currency is the Real (plural reais) . When I arrived in Brazil, (February 2014) the Real was at about two to the dollar, so this would have been about nine dollars at that time. When I left (October 2015) it was at about four to the dollar, so this would have been about four dollars and fifty cents. This picture was in fact taken on October 3,2015, about three weeks before we left. This was in the city of Fortaleza, the first time we had ever been in that city.
