Breakdown Poem by Faith Elizabeth Brigham

Breakdown

Rating: 4.7

momma, don't be angry
is it something that we did
momma, don't ignore us
as we climb on top your bed

momma, we are hungry
it is past time we were fed
momma, you can't feed us
if you don't get out of bed

we're just little children
and we do not understand
why you lie there staring
at our tiny outstretched hands

momma, please forgive us
you're so far away it seems
we're young and we don't know
just what nervous breakdown means

A very clever one this short but gives a real picture of someone suffering from depression, everything stops to the extent no one matters anymore. Very nice indeed. Sincerely Ernestine Northover
