Broken Angel - Poem by Andi Jakobs
My wings used to fly me to my dreams,
But now they sit in the drawer torn and bloody.
My halo used to lie upon my head, shining bright,
But now it lays in the trash, bent and broken.
My clothes used to be light, and white as snow,
But now they are black, and drag darkness everywhere.
My spirit used to be happy and uplifting,
But now it sits at the bottom of the abyss, lost.
My heart used to be faithful and trustworthy,
But now it’s fragile and scared to feel.
My eyes used to be filled with hope and courage,
But now they are overflowed with tears.
My love used to come easily and safely.
But now it comes slowly and along ragged rocks.
I used to be an angel that shown as light as the sun.
But now I am broken and lost in the dark.
