Burning Bridges Poem by Bill Simmons

Burning Bridges

Rating: 5.0

Burning bridges of our minds
To the roads we left behind
Tell the stories of our lives
And constantly reminds

Burning bridges of the heart
That left us in the dark
Have you ever wished you could go back
And have a new start

Do you ever wish you could go back
To decisions that you chose
And do things quite differently
Follow different roads

Do you ever wish you could go back
And change things sometimes
To someone you loved long ago
But burning bridges-burning bridges, remind

Burning bridges of our mind
Sometimes is so unkind
Even if we thought we could
We left it all behind

Of all the roads not taken
To late to go back somehow
The memories they flood in
Forever haunt you now

Burning bridges-burning bridges
Burning bridges of our lives
I’d love to know you once in my arms
But burning bridges remind.
