But I'Ll Do My Best Poem by Jade Leven

But I'Ll Do My Best

take me for what I am
a heartache on this golden land
and I could never speak like you can
in a language only you can understand

forgive my past self for her mistakes
he was like cheap perfume back then
I wanted him only because
I didn't want to give up everything when...

you call my name
but you'll have to take me for what I am
a catastrophe you'll never admit to
I am yours, but you don't want me now or then
that's alright because
I don't want to give up everything when...

you call my name
I know love is all the same
you fight and if you happen to win
you do it all over again
and when all odds are against me
nothing spells love like T-E-A-R-S
but I'll do my best

Are you really 13? This is a very mature poem that conveys strong emotion anyone can relate to. It's unfathomable what your poems will be like when you are in your 20's if you can create material this powerful at 13. Thanks for the read.... and for the encouraging comments on my poetry. I'll be sure to dive into more of yours when I get the chance.
