By The Trainline Tonight

Rating: 5.0

It’s cold by the train line tonight
and the darkness upsets our faith.
A calm wind my only escort
as I walk this private path.
Seclusion is my constant shepherd;
Futility is my thoughtful foe.
I live to seek, I seek to live
but my sombre station still sits vacant.

I’m alone by the train line tonight
the sky holds no answers for me.
But beyond that bleak black cloud
I now see a light up ahead.
Making its way to my isolated post
a delicate heat in its ghostly glow.
Now I’m thrilled by a reckless delight
Silently I wish and I wait.

There’s hope by the train line tonight
I feel a gust of belief through my hair.
The light will revive my sleeping desire and
allow me to shake the cold hand of liberty.
A stimulation to all of my senses
as the spectacular spectacle arrives.
While I revel in the majesty of this moment
My soul is soothed by her splendour.

A thrill by the train line tonight
I laugh aloud, embracing the joy.
The light eclipses my anxious shadows;
Transitory but triumphant she shines.
And as I dance that glory fades;
shying away from my selfish sight.
Her platform abandoned, forlorn
I’m left only with a luminous legacy.

It’s cold by the train line tonight
though the chill is no longer mine.
Wordlessly I watch as the action dissolves
staring, smiling, wild, warm.
A lingering breeze strokes my skin,
reminding my heart of her enduring love.
Now back I must turn, her gift a secret
between the silent night sky and I.
