Bye Bye Baby (For Kate) - Poem by Danielle Guscott

My empty arms cling
To what I'll never hold
My empty soul sings
The same old song.
All I have left of you
Are doctor's careful bruises
But what will happen
When bruises fade
And the constant nausea goes away?
What will happen
If I don't think of you every day?
Does it mean I love you less
Than when I first knew you?
I miss you.
When the physical is gone
How will I remember you?
