Cage - Poem by George Kassabgi

Seed, firmly planted,
within cage of time

In fetal position, delicately sustained,
within cage of life

In infancy, openly trusting,
within cage of love

As toddler, fully exploring,
within cage of feedback

In adulthood, struggling mightily,
within cage of ambition

The elderly, reflecting quietly,
within cage of memories past

Death illuminating, finally, the cage itself
