Call Me All Type Of Names, But Look At Me Now! - Poem by DASHOUNDA PENDLETON

I'm loved by many
but hated by plenty
so I hold my head up high
to each everyone who hated or loved me
and I stand strong not for you or you but for
the ones who have been there in my shoes
I stand to show them that either way I'm going
to make it, you call me names and everything else
but those same words you use to say to me those same
words going to come back to you. So I say thank
you for the words you called me because look where it brought me.
It brought me a mighty long way.
