Carnal Knowledge Poem by JohnHenry Strathmann

Carnal Knowledge

Rating: 5.0

Music found me bullied, disenchanted,
Disenfranchised in my neighborhood.
Music came across me, and I ranted
Drowning out the din loud as I could.

Music was my link to some approval
Since athletic prowess hadn't worked.
Pick-up teams insisted my removal
From the team selection... I got jerked!

Music was my only true salvation;
Music could express my deeper thoughts.
Music could invent a concentration
That could serve to loosen mental knots.

Music was my early fascination
As the world resounded in its flow.
At an age of sparse communication
How far would this take me - can I know?

Then... music found me....
