Catch What She's Drivin' At. - Poem by s./j. goldner

Step light-footed
into a game
that's already begun,
that's now nearly over.

Voluble thoughts
dissolve into air—
quicken or hinder
artistic vibes.

She who doesn't care
what each thinks of her,
is admired in many eyes.

Her relentless folly
is a valiant pursuit
for the utter truth.

i love the subtlety of 'stepped light footed', you are very good at building up the momentum of your poem till it gets to hinge onto our heart. (Report) Reply

'utter truth' is kind of oxymoronic - but to 'utter' truth certainly makes sense in this context. The integrity of seeking and being true to oneself rings loud and clear. Yep, I catch what she's drivin' at! Rgds, Ivan (Report) Reply

Bravo! This sounds so like someone I know...and admire....someone I see every single day...oh, yes! in my mirror! Love this, Suzy Q. Thanks for sharing. (Report) Reply
