Caught Between The Sands Of Time, A Memory Flew By... - Poem by Daria Tulenko
You know, sometimes, I sit and think, and I feel regret that I pushed you away,
that I built that wall in front of me to keep you from coming close anymore.
A tear manages to escape and I nonchalantly brush it away,
you knew this would happen, you knew there would be an end to us,
yet you never mentioned a thing before to me.
When I think that, I know then, that I did the right thing,
telling you I dont trust you, letting you know this wouldn't go,
because if i played along any longer, I would be lying to myself, and making it worse. So If there's anything else to say, I would like to point out, this thing, this fling we had, though fleeting a moment it was, caught in between sands of grain in a hourglass,
I'll remember it forever, because it was precious; there was a spark, a fire,
something we both felt that we wont forget for as long as we'll live.
