Cheapskates Poem by Marilyn Lott

Cheapskates

Rating: 5.0

Some people are so cheap
At least it seems so to me
Whenever it is possible
The will get what they can free

Whether they get away at lunch
With someone else picking up the bill
Or perhaps getting a bargain
And you know what? They always will

They won’t spend a single dollar
When a quarter they can use
You want them to share expenses?
Oh no, they will simply refuse

They’ll buy a loaf of stale bread
At the bargain table each time
Instead of soft fresh bread
If they have to spend another dime

You’ll find them everywhere you go
Excuses you’ll hear them state
For cutting spending every which way
These folks are just plain cheapskates!
