Child Abuse - Poem by lucy wright

A gloomy cellar,
Im all alone,
Im always here,
Always on my own.
Im 5 years old,
But have no life,
My daddy hates me,
He uses a knife.
He tries to get me,
So I run away.
I dont think he can find me,
but he will some day.
I have have no sisters,
Nor any brothers.
Some poeple have brill parents,
Fathers and Mothers.
But oh not mine,
They are not the same.
They hit and hit me,
They drive me insain.
They say I do wrong,
but I dont know what,
Im sorry I scream
In a corner I squat.
Im ever so scared,
Of mummy and Daddy,
My parents are different,
Why cant they be happy.
I here a door bang,
And start to cry,
I know they will get me,
If I dont hide.
I start to hide,
Under boxes and sheets.
But it doesnt work,
They here a squeek.
They are coming to get me,
I know they are,
Im ever so scared,
They are breaking my heart.
I dont know what to do,
Im alone in this,
All I want is a hug,
Or a kiss.
