Cliche Away - Poem by Matt Burgett

Over the last few years
You've been in more than just my thoughts
My heart, my soul, and my fears
Consists of you more than not

And honestly I just want a shot
To win your heart back
With you I could forget the rest
You are the only thing I lack

At the moment anyway
I have given up hope for this place
To have meaning in my heart
I must abandon it to see your face

I want you back I must admit
And I may sound like a broken record
I just want you I don't give a shit
Past the rest that must be concord

If I can't have you I don't know what to do
No-one else do I want with me
Just you forever yes It's true
I need your heart for eternity

Cliche I may be getting
But the words they must be said
Courtney I still love you
Still echoes throughout my head

Nothing will stop me not until
I get to hold you in my arms
I need to go there I must feel
The warmth that comes from your heart

Embraced in hugs to feel your presence
It's all that I want to do
After that I could die
And my spirit would always be with you
