Color Versus Colour - Poem by Derek James

Color is the American
English way,
Colour is the British
English way,
Both can be used in
Canadian English.

They are similar and
mean the very same
Only Spelt in two
different ways.

A Canadian writer like
Forever stuck on that
American word color,
Always leaving out that
letter U.

Oh well, I always have
to say,
When two words mean
the same thing,
No worries, after all you
are the author.

Let it be color without
the U,
Let it be colour with the
U added,
Both are still beautiful
words I have to say.

It is never a sin when it
comes to those two similar
grammer words,
They are only spelt in two
different ways.

I guess I must be stuck
on that American word
spelled color,
I will still keep writing,
No matter if I choose
color over colour.

Spelt and spelled I have
included in my poem,
Both are the same only
spelt different,
Makes up for a cheerful
laugh, ha, ha, ha!

I think I will end this
poem here,
Before I get all tongue
tied reading this poem,
Enjoy my poem color vs
