Creepy Crawlies Poem by Tex T Sarnie

Creepy Crawlies

Rating: 5.0

In the darkness of the night when you are lying in your bed
do you think about the creatures that may invade you while you sleep?
The housebound spiders, woodlice, silverfish, earwigs, and ants,
that may enter your body just looking for a place of retreat.

The creatures that usually remain hidden away from human eyes,
defying gravity, and able to walk upon all types of surface.
Instinctive creatures that do not think about danger or consequences,
as they search for food, or safety in any dark corner, or orifice.

When they venture into your unprotected ears, mouth, or nostrils
they care not for those that are sleeping, for they know not fear.
Should a person be wise and place protection over their open mouth,
and place cotton wool into their nostrils and ears?

Sometimes you're too tired to think about these bodily protections,
although intoxication is worse than tiredness to a creature attack.
A house without a closed door or window is always an open invitation
and it's so much easier for a creature when you are flat on your back.
