Daylight 1 - Poem by uche peter umez

That ageless bulb brightens the sand-cast sky

with blazing

eyes of sapphire

above clouds of expansive bust

in down of pearl

the crackling crows of the cock

peel off the heavy strips of sleep

from my lazy senses

the dragging politics of another day.

I like very much the let-down at the end, after the flowery opening. (I think that's what Adam liked too) (Report) Reply
