Dear Lord Poem by Ray Hansell

Dear Lord

Dear Lord, if you have a minute
I'd like to talk with you
I have so much to say
But I'm not sure what to do

Someone very close to me
Recently passed away
I wasn't sure what to do
Even less sure of what to say

I felt the pain in my heart
But my tears never fell
Now I feel like I am
Living in my own private hell

I know I should be crying
With tears rolling down my cheeks
The pain inside is killing me
I have no words to speak

I know my pain should be showing
Through the falling of my tears
That's why I'm so puzzled
I need some guidance here

Dear Lord, won't you help me
To try and find my way
We'll talk again tomorrow
I know I'll have more to say

But for now I'll suffer
Trying to find out why
That when I heard my friend had died
I didn't even cry
