Deep Inside Me - Poem by Michael Barnicle

Deep inside I'm screaming
For help with all this pain
Deep inside I'm dreaming
That one day I'll be sane
Deep inside I'm hoping
Self-assured I'll become
Deep inside I'm coping
By making myself numb
Deep inside I'm crying
Because I have self-hate
Deep inside I'm relying
That others will fix this trait
Deep inside I'm faking
So I don't have to see
Deep inside I'm breaking
Only I can fix me
Deep Inside I'm running
From being something great
Deep inside I'm stunning
But afraid of my fate
