Delta 9 (Thc) Revised - Poem by Luke J. Holt

Delta 9
Delta 9
Underneath the sequent pines
Into the glade we go
Long mossy narrows
Walls of garland strung neatly through unseen lattice
Trees wracked in autumn palsy
Like dinosaur bones

Skin of spore built like scum and plushy films of jellied mold as green-black and lustrous as caviar

Little pine switch
But two feet off the fragrant crunch underfoot
Harvesting yellow from the sky to buy homeless angels blonde hair dye
My head is the wet hay no soft hand would deign to sift for needles

Nothing but high corns upstairs
The sun making drama with lion colored light and shadows on the town after mid day's harlequin patches of denim blue fill and explode with the incandescent yellow of dry grass in flames

Ballet is lonely and you are no dancer

I'll live and argue with my undying recollection
Throwing rocks from my tux pocket at the chain fixture of a chandelier
Standing beneath it
Or it could fall beside me and crush my hope which is my shadow and must always tell me to stay
with him crushed I can leave you all and scarify silence in the scarcely imagined nothing of the atheist's death

But I carry her smell like an heirloom
She smelled strange.. but good

I positioned myself beneath a lamp of richly blue light on a weathered cot with wings
The night would be a road trip
I stared ahead agape and blankly in awe
Like taxidermy

Even volcanos no longer expect a virgin
Sleep is so close it's starting to sing
The mice have had their milk
A dog is on his rope knowing only one name at a time
I understand him
He falls in love the way I do
I live in orbits carved by hussies

Delta 9
Delta 9
Paints from trees in vapid Arcadia
Garish clay under fronds that fall like celluloid pirates' paper swords when molted by big waxy trees that loom like giant deaf toddlers

Satellites know what it's like to love unrequited
So I wish them luck
To crash on the moon with a stargazer lilly
Sit in a box and remark on the candles and the lounge act hired for the Terra Pax Requiem and I gasp
My assignment was to pretend to be dead
and now I had to give my box back

Will they flog me for not dying thus to rectify their crying over me?
I ran into a trolly, lost my coins and all my jollies
Drop silver
Drop bark and hair and copper
Very ape
In high grass
Shiny black dogs
Happy iris very light brown
Too much cream in my coffee
Nearly no love for the clowns
I'm sorry

Where I've seen sooperloon eclipses is where I sit now
Delta 9
Delta 9
Why do you scare me with mongrels in the night
at bay
By the dumps
Channeling timbrewolves flanking dusk in tenement bedlams
Scoundrels yelling at waste and sniffing drunk spit
blind as urchins without the street's crooked eyes stalks guiding

But why am I never 'him'
Let's discuss it once I've impressed you
I cling to hopes like Rapunzel's ropes
I don't let go for shit
I'd give anything to forget
I've felt my bones be cold in December rain
I've been happier than kites than quickly to Styx to count my hell hound's teeth and scavenge arcs I crushed with spawned baphomets of self hate drooling and sharpening knives
Delta 9
Loathsome savant screaming in the unlit wind
Summer tepid and heart pregnant with broken glass
Delta 9
So quick to dip
He walks the woods dark as crows
Moody as hungry thieves
Trent the synaesthese
He'll war you for childhood's bread
Kill you for its unforgettable balloons
That pied yesterday blimp yonder carries

I'll hide from you and clencth my ice
My hate that melts in my clutches and punitively shrivels my fingers

What have I felt as soft as you?
The answer doesn't change
Delta 9
Delta 9
I'll bring the awful earth in cups and plant the last in space
I'm a negative creep when I'm stoned
You're an idiot tease when you're drinking
I watch the arms of analogs lift weights on an hour in stasis
Hate stored in gated chambers grazing new age beheaded president papers in search of black LED lights of night colored laser
Ingrained explode catered to four letter names etched above navels
Chains and ladels

Thank you so much for reading. There's plenty more work on my page, my friend. I'd love some more feedback. Have a wonderful day
