Dementia-It's Ok-Inspired By Bri Edwards-Damn....Dementia - Poem by Loke Kok yee

I'm sorry to hear about your dementia plight
But it is okay if poems you can still write
It is only serious when you rave and rant
Or you go out shopping not wearing your pants
Or look into the mirror and ask who are you?
Then and only then to life you can say adieu

lovely poem! but who says Bri hasn't gone out without pants on? ? oh, you weren't talking about me? ?

i do find it more convenient to NOT wear pants to the store, 'cause that way i can sit on the toilet more quickly if i get the urge in the store...............that's IF i make it to the bathroom.

    what's a bathroom?

    bri ;)

First of all, I love your frog photo, it's fun and beautiful. Secondly though this is a beautiful and humorous poem I most certainly know the reality of dementia as my Mom has what they call...Extreme Dementia but I must say many parts of the day we do find ourselves laughing so it's really nice to see that someone, especially a poet can shed a light of humour on this very devastation condition. I'm now here in Ontario taking care of her and have been for several months and I'm very happy and grateful to have a place to come when I need that solace of poetry. Thank you so much Loke Lok yee..... (Report) Reply

Quite humorous when we read about such things, but once when they happen in real life, we know how it is! Hats off to you for making such a serious problem, a hilarious one, treating it in your genuine humor! (Report) Reply

Having lost my athletic and healthy body with age, I have learned to adapt. But if I ever lose control of my mind, it will be time to end (Report) Reply
