Denis Joe, Come Home - Poem by Scarlett Treat

THE CRY FOR HELP IN THE NIGHT,
THE LONELY BIRD TAKES FLIGHT.
THE SOUL WHICH LONGED FOR PEACE,
SEEKING TO FIND SWEET RELEASE,
WEEPS NOW, SAD AND CRYING,
THINKING ITSELF ALONE.

BUT THE MOTHER OF ALL JOY
AND THE FATHER OF EASE
BRING YOU LOVE.

That is so sweet and beautifully poised. Sentiment shared by many and expressed so finely by you. (Report) Reply

Hi Linda! I just searched for poems with Denis Joe in the title to find the ones written for him..........I'm sorry I missed this! I think your poem in all capitals really helps give the feeling of the fear and uncertainty felt by everyone (especially Denis) I hope he reads this beautiful tribute. Sincerely, Mary (Report) Reply

You are a loving friend, dear one... I'm sure that this poem will bring something good to Denis when he is able to take it. The last stanza reads as a perfect benediction. Love, Esther (Report) Reply
