Deres Naade Fru Kammerherreinde, Baronesse Rosenørn-Lehn - Poem by Emil Aarestrup

Italiens Sanger slaaer som Nattergalen,
Henrevet af de musikalske Strømme,
Der bruse i Bellinis Tonedrømme,
Og Mængden lytter, aandeløs, i Salen.

Morgenbelysningen i Schweitzerdalen,
Naar Alpetinderne i Purpur svømme,
Begeistrer Maleren; Konstvenner drømme,
Og Publikum forbauses ved hans Malen.

Hvor store Kræfter sig til Maalet skynde
— Det Høies Standpunkt og det Ideales -
Kan Thorvaldsen sit Marmorværk begynde

Men, for at Digtets fine Blad kan males,
Behøves kun et Træk af Sjælens Ynde
Og af den Dyd, hvorom kun sjelden tales.
