Desperate - Poem by Rob Daddy Stanley

She tries not to cry so she swallows the tears down her pretty little throat
Pain in her eyes
As she reads that sad letter she wrote
She says..

You’ve never tasted desperate
I cant take the beatings from their hands anymore
And the ones I love, they left me
The ones I once trust, stabbed me in the back
You’ve never tasted desperate
Quite like I have.

You’ve never tasted desperate
As she loads that life ender into the gun
And every time I climb
I just get knocked back down
And there is no one to sympathetically pick me up
You’ve never tasted desperate
And I’ve tasted enough.

So we gather here
Cause her cares and her fears where not recognized
We feel the sorrow
See no chance of tomorrow
As tears are shed
From hollow eyes.

You’ve never tasted desperate
She couldn’t take the beatings from your hands anymore
You’ve never tasted desperate,
It wasn’t just your hands that left her beaten and sore
You’ve never tasted desperate
Yes, she searched and she found her only way out
You’ve never tasted desperate
And she can’t either now

No, you’ve never tasted desperate
