Died For Love - Poem by Krissy Metcalf

On my path
where I dwell, I met a boy I loved so well.
He came and brought his love to me
and now he's off to set it free.
He'll find another to set on his knee
then tell her things he'll never say to me.

I ran straight home to my bed
not one word to my mother was said.
my father got home a little later that nite
I was nowhere in sight
with tears in his eyes he glanced around
On my dresser this note was found.
It read.....
Dig a grave, and dig it deep from marble stone
from my head to my feet, and on the top please place
above to tell the world that I died for love..
long gone, Krissy
