Differences - Poem by Nichole Flynn

Fighting temptation with each passing male
Holding onto his heart without remorse
Looking at him makes it hard to exhale
Thinking of all the pain makes it much worse

Wishing for a change, to in love to know
The differences between lust and real love
Waiting for the real thing to enter now
Into (my) life, like a gift from above

Fling after fling (my) heart seems to tear more
To in love with the thought of being loved
Hating the thought of being called a whore
Even if most of the ‘love’ is ungloved

(I) lay in his arms night after sweet night
Knowing that (I’m) his one true sense of right
