Different Poem by Rosalyn Grohol

Different

She wanted something different
But it always ended the same
She loved him until the last tear
And let go of the pain

She was lost and insecure
Just looking for direction
She felt like she was the rule
But she was my exception

She never wasted any time
On things that didn't matter
On the outside, she looked perfect
The inside was a disaster

Just waiting for her chance
Like any ordinary girl
Not realizing that
She was my entire world

Looking at her fingertips
Longing to be held
Sometimes I wish I told her
How I really felt.

Usually, I reserve ballad form for parody, but this is a nice, serious one. Appreciation grows as time flows, it seems to say. MM
