Disappearing (Pretend) - Poem by Laura Dunne

break these boundaries
leave the simplicity behind
i'm who i have to be
not who i'd like to (like to)
talk to my empty room
i'm gonna leave here soon
with very few goodbyes
i'll have to meet some new

disappearing
transparent empty shell
disappearing
from a home like hell
they say it's for the better
they say it's good
what do they know
making me pretend

pretending i'm happy
pretending i'm glad
to leave my friends for good
what the hell will i do?

sit and reminisce
of a past experience
when i knew what i could be
not what i'd become
hoping no sunshine
cause i'll leave that day
praying for rainfall
one more day to stay

disappearing
transparent empty shell
disappearing
from a home like hell
they say it's for the better
they say it's good
what do they know?
making me pretend

pretending i don't care
pretending thouse who care
really know my life
they don't know what i do

time slips slowly through my fingers
i fall through the trap
set for me by ones who don't
want my sanity entact

disappearing
transparent empty shell
disappearing
from a home like hell
they say it's for the better
they say it's good
what do they know
making me pretend
