Do They Know? Poem by Agnes Abraham

Do They Know?

As the sea rumbles against the sand
I imagine you, gripping my hand
I feel the sand squished between my toes
And I wonder if everyone knows?
Do they see the twinkle in my eye as you approach?
Do they see the smirk on my face as you come forth?
Can they feel my heart pump when I speak of you?
Can they see my hand sweat as I dream of you?

As I’m writing this you should know I only think of you
And whoever comes my way has got nothing on you
Those other man can’t compare to you
And believe what I say cause it’s the honest truth.
