Does It Bother You That You Could Be Just Like Me? Poem by Heather Taylor

Does It Bother You That You Could Be Just Like Me?

what are you thinking
as of right now?
are your thoughts a mere image
of mine somehow?
what are you wearing
to express you today?
maybe your hair
is styled the same way.
do you write poetry
or read at all?
do you wish some people
would just crumble and fall?
does it bother you
that you could be just like me?
or am i selfishly
what you wanna be?
do you like
to get up and dance
or just listen
stuck in a musical trance?
do you ever wonder
if im your twin;
seperated at birth
or carried off by a strong wind?
does it bother you
that you could be just like me
or am i secretly
what you wanna be?
do you sing,
or have a horrible voice?
are you left in this world
without a choice?
have you been addicted
to any drugs
wishing you could have
just a few sincere hugs?
are you high right now
lost in your own space?
or painfully blinded
by this worlds mace?
does it bother you
that you could be just like me?
or am i typically
what you wanna be?
are you hated
by most you know?
or to fit in
do you put on a good show?
are you now
down upon your knees
servicing the next guy
who will pay your cheap fees?
do you know
if your soul is lost
or what the price this world demands
will eventually cost?
does it bother you
that you ARE just like me
or have you blocked that out
refusing to see?
