Don'T Let Me Wake - Poem by Karei Olson

I awake
to a new room filled with strange and unique things
Where the color and all lifeless objects spring
to life
There's a beautiful boy lying next to me
lying right where my stuffed teddy used to be
Angelic figure, His eyes open to mine
Blue-green eyes just like where the land does kiss the sky.
now tell me why

Why will beings in my dreams never be there when I wake to reality?
Open my eyes and let this sanctuary be left behind
A distant memory...
Don't let me wake (don't let me wake)
Please don't let me wake (don't let me wake)
to this torture people call life.
