Don't Think Of Yourself Poem by Gary James Smith

Don't Think Of Yourself

Rating: 5.0

Don't Think Of Yourself

Don't think of yourself too highly
We are but a speck of dust
That God has gloriously clothed with flesh
That we in Him might trust
And benefited us with thought
That we may will to do
And choose between good or evil
With an accountability too

For He is greatly to be praised
Who doth all things well
That gives to us an opportunity
Our choice of Heaven or Hell
The Truth be told.... He's Jesus Christ
The Word becoming flesh
Who died that we might live again
He came to earth to bless

And give to man an eternal hope
That Satan cannot dismiss
For greater is He who lives within
Than he who can only hiss
All power is in that precious name
That name of Jesus Christ
For He has conquered death and lives
He's paid our ransom price

A speck of dust but what a man
That God has clothed us with
That we might come and know Him thus
By having a childlike faith
And sins damnation nailed to the cross
He bore it all for me
So I can shout to all the world
The Son has made me free!
