TheSilent Loudness

Doorbell - Poem by TheSilent Loudness

You live in my lips as they crawl up
my face, you make yourself at
home in my dimples
My teeth have become your playground
since when you come to me they
are yours to dance on
You practice your backstroke in
my blue and too willing eyes
I watch as you kick off the wall
I'll keep your mouth hovering
over the water just as you think
you've lost your breath, I'll save you
You scrub your skin with
my massage and let my hands clean you
I am, at last, your visitor
Madelaine, I'm gladly giving in
to your sewing soul's needle
With what pain I take I could hardly feel
your eye's point
You must not know what wars I fight
when trying to ease myself to sleep at night
But what I do, I do for you
So take me
You warm yourself with my body
Take me as your fire in any way you
But love me
Tell me when I'm wrong that you know
it but you found a flashlight
and can lead me from my dark, dark tunnel

and into Sunday mornings
filled with newborn sunshine and a
walk through the park
Show me that you see my hiding
place but we're only playing hide and seek
tell me that you do not just love my smile
but the thoughts beneath my skin
tell me all about how you read the
diary I wrote when I cried myself to sleep
and that you kept it
Because Madelaine, I saw it in your bookcase when
I was looking for your history book
So I could find out when you learned how
to tell time
Apart from quality
I also saw your bookmark, the bloodshot
eyes you left on the page about your
The page was stapled in, having been ripped out,
and had burned up edges for a frame
I ripped it out and put it in my pocket.
I took your hand, and borrowed your flashlight
You can have your bloodshot eyes back, you
will need them for what is to come
I will make you laugh about your memories
so hard that you will be red in the face

and bloodshot in the eyes.
What I'll tell you is this:
when you came to my doorstep and
stepped in my home
you never rang the doorbell.
Because for you, I never had one.
