Dream Lover - Poem by Orlando Belo

She called out a name in her sleep,
but the name was not mine.
Moans of ecstasy and fervour followed,
but the name was not mine.

I whispered as I pretended to be her lover,
and spoke words as sweet as wine.
She whispered, ‘I love you' and spoke a name,
but the name was not mine!
