Dream Worlds - Poem by Naomi Timpany
In my dreams I find an escape from life
Wonderful worlds where only I can visit,
Where there are no worries, troubles or strife;
Green fields with rivers where leprechauns sit.
In my nightmares I find that terror rules
Witches and werewolves and goblins galore.
Dark old graveyards where the dead body cools,
Endless corridors where there is no door.
Then dreams where the two worlds mix together,
Where a perfect dream turns to a nightmare.
Elves and fairies as light as a feather
Turn to evil goblins hid in their lair.
Dreams, nightmares haunt me for their own sake
Until I at last, from my slumbers wake.
