Dreams Of The Lost - Poem by Kelly Zion

You close your eyes in this cave of stone
trying desperately for pleasant dreams
but one thing you’ll never know
you’ll sleep the sleep ‘of a thousand screams.’

Lava creeps from underneath
as dusk falls outside the door
you begin to slowly fall asleep
you’ll be asleep for evermore.

You catch the scent of sulfur smoke
but still believe all is well
you dream of love, peace, and hope
as ashes rise from the pit of Hell.

Time is all but too far gone
but you can only see blue sky
you don’t know anything is wrong
and have no idea you’re going to die.
