Edge Of 17 Movie - Poem by Elena Goldenberg

You think you're different
A story of make-believe
Still waiting for something
Sure you're going to commit
Feet itching, hands restless
Eyes hungry for fame
You hope you're different
Kindling a ghoast of a flame
Still dreaming of doing
Some extraordinary thing
They think you're so scared
You'll never kiss the floor and admit
You hear them hiss and spit
You say you don't give a shit
What you want is above them
What about, pretty,
Loneliness as a parting gift?
