Empty Shell Poem by Ulysses Cabinatan

Empty Shell

They walk
they talk
but they have no soul
just like some shells in the seashore

inanimate,
no living creature
just an empty shell in the seashore

they have skin
but no emotions
they have bones
but just a structure
just like the empty shell
in the seashore

The world is a cold place
for those creatures
they exist but not living
they are breathing
but don't have a spirit
just letting the tides of time washes them
like empty shells in the seashore
