Ending Simple Tides - Poem by Paul Hankewicz

I'm the cause for ink,
that runs dry on paper.

It is why I think,
an amity becomes vapor.

Words swept on lines,
sang such silence.

Eyes crept on mines,
drove such distance.

I ended the simple tides.

Racing out of the recurring painting,
I face reality.

What do I do now?
that I am caught in the center,
of this domino graveyard.

No way out,
but to pick up the pieces.
