Endless Cycle - Poem by melissa lora

Another day
twenty four new hours
to fight for what i need the most
deprived by the treasure
that i never get to hold
why, love?
is this soul not worth enough?
i try to fight for it
forcing myself to obtain perfection
maybe that way i'll have it
and even though im surrounded
by many faces
some sweet
some sour
emptiness holds my chest
gripping my core
as if scared to let go
and i try to fight it
i reach out
my hand becomes invisible
why is this so difficult?
i surrender
and close my eyes
and everything starts all over again
another day
twenty four new hours.
