Endless Love (A Variation On Rabindranath Tagore's 'Unending Love') Poem by Ilania Cyaalá

Endless Love (A Variation On Rabindranath Tagore's 'Unending Love')

Rating: 5.0

It seems I have desired thee in numberless ways, numberless times…
In life after life, in age after age…
Eternally…
My enchanted heart has made and remade the lyrical necklace,
Take it as a gift and wear it in thy many guises,
In life after life, in age after age…
Eternally…

Whenever I hear an ancient dreamy tale,
It is eternal pain,
It is the timeless tale – being apart, being near.
As I stare again and again at the past,
In the end thy face emerges,
Shining with starlight,
Piercing time’s darkness,
And revealing an image which I
Always remember.

We have drifted here in the stream
That springs in lush glades.
At time’s heart, desire and tenderness.
We have played beside numberless twin hearts.
Shared in the same shy sweetness in meeting.
The distressful tears at saying farewell,
Unending tenderness but in shapes that
Renew and renew eternally.
