Environment 3 - Return Home To Nature - Poem by Dr. Geeta Radhakrishna Menon

Return home to Nature to
Recognize your true identity,
Re-unite with Nature to
Re-live the splendours of Nature's serendipity!

Tune in with Nature with
Tenderness and kindness,
Treat the flora and fauna with
Tender feelings of love and care!

Feel the sensation of the brown earth on your feet,
Feel the feather touch of leaves on your fingers,
Feel the sensitive kiss of petals on your cheeks,
Feel the heavenly mountain breeze on your body!

Hug the trees with joy,
Hear them sing a silent melody,
Hang your woes and worries far away,
Heal the world with sublime thoughts!

Invite the birds to visit your garden,
Invite them to share your breakfast,
Invite the stars to look down and smile.
Invite Nature to share your life with them!

Poet's Notes about The Poem

5th June 2017 is declared as the World Environment Day.
Here is a poem dedicated to Nature and its environment.
This is a picture taken by me when i visited the Moghul Garden in Delhi
in March 2017. I was most fascinated by the little white flowers that hugged a huge tree.

I wish each one of us could develop a similar kind of sensitivity towards nature around us, could hug the trees, invite birds in the garden and over the break-fast and 'Re-unite with nature to.... Re-live the splendours of Nature's serendipity! ' The reader gets to re-live the magic of nature through this poetic masterpiece. Thanks a lot, Geeta ji for the poem and for the photo. I quote a few lines:
Feel the sensitive kiss of petals on your cheeks,
Feel the heavenly mountain breeze on your body!

Tune of nature is very sweet and beautiful. There is tenderness and kindness and we feel these values for humanity. Giving hug to tree we get joy. Flowers smile to praise God and us. We feel sensation of nature from environment and we feel beauty of life that glows. There is true recognition of soul in nature as this is Earth is home. A very beautiful poem is excellently drafted and shared.10 (Report)Reply

    Thank you Kumarmaniji!
Since you also recognise the beauty and divinity of nature, you perfectly understand the value of preserving and conserving our nature and its inhabitants and to remain attuned to it.

    hi, geeta!

wanting to get out for a walk and into nature, i only have time to read one of your new poems.

indeed, i also am convinced our identity is bound up with nature, and that it is masked or even perverted when we are too long separated from it. there's a book title i really like, touch the earth. as it suggests, as you say, we need this, need it for our overall health, need it for balance. and o the beauty!

thank you for sharing this poem.
