Eraser - Poem by Ann Marie Forest

Remember me?
Our life, our love, our memories?
You know my touch!
You know my heart!
We've been together from the start.
Yesterday you knew my name,
but suddenly our life has changed.
Memories have been erased.
The love, the trials, that we have faced.
Forgotten, without blame;
you simply don't remember my name!
I'll see you tomorrow.
I have to go.
And as the tears begin to flow,
I ask again, remember me?
a distant look is all I see.
To look in your eyes,
is so hard to do,
For Alzheimer, has taken you.
