Escaping - Poem by kelsey holts

The thoughts of him returning
send chillls and shivers down my spine
he's inside my mind
not welcomed or invited
he controls me and i have no escape
except one most thrilling
my hand grabs a knife, one long and sharp
he controls me and makes it move to my vein
holding it steadily against my skin
the deep red crimson flowing down my arm
this is the only escape, my only way to be free
the knife cuts deeper as he returns to my mind
one last cut and my soul can finally be free
